Need to know if any chips really work

I gotta 2003 Nissan Maxima se 6 spd and wanted to know if there are any chips that u plug into the obd that actually works

No. Your only options are reflashing the ecu, using an AFR controller, or a piggyback ecu. There are no plug and play chips for these cars.

What setup are you going to run? What goals are you trying to meet? Theres several different ways to tune with various ease of use + price, lmk what youre trying to do so i can recommend something rather than having to list a bunch of stuff with no context.

Be honest with you I really don't have a set up plan was just gonna throw some things here and there....let's say I have $400 to play with....what should I do?

zero support? i've never seen any.

Take that $400 to the strip club, you'll get more out of it then trying to make your 16 year old car fast and furious.

your $400 will come up short for your expectations, better off doing handling mods, if you have to have more power in that price range, look into NWP manifold spacers, plug and play 10-12 hp, $225+ , then w the other $175- get advanced timing, and maybe some DIY intake upgrades.

theres a plug and play TB but thats $355 ish but roughly 8 hp w no other mods.

exhaust upgrades like headers will be over your budget,

do some reasearch and figure out your priorities and re evaluate your budget.

what are the plug n play ones your talking about? Brand names?
