Q: anyone ever try reading the ECU...

with a laptop/serial connection type of thing?

was talking to a friend and he thought it would be cool to try that sometime...

is there anyprogram or has anyone tried reading the ECU chip directly?

I'd love to plug something onto it and just try and grab info from it.

hmm but has anyone ever tried making their own proggy
using the ISO 9141-2 standard? like openning their own connection to the ECU and reading it? I'm curious about doing that actually

From what i read, the Techtom is a program already written and stuff.
