Engine bogs down at 2700 rpm why?

2002 Maxima SE 3.5 Auto. Engine revs fine up to 4K rpm in neutral, Higher rpm in neutral ok too. Engine sounds fine. While in gear the following symptoms occur:

* Accelerate fast engine bogs down at 2700 rpm
* Accelerate slow engine and tran are fine up to 70 MPH if I accelerate above 70 or gun it the engine bogs down

Cat replaced and stainless still exhaust installed.
Tranny fluid looks good
oil changed
Performed the Max Aif Flow clean procedure
Getting a diag tool friday July 5th to plug in and see codes / service light is on

Anyone have similar expereince and have suggestions?

And the answer is a clogged tail exhaust

Yes, the fiberglass matt inside the aft exhaust pipe chamber ***** up and inhibits airflow. Took a plumbing snake and cleared out mesh fiberglass. Drove and clogged again, cleared more out, Started pulling material out with a needle nose. Drove and finally blew all kinds of crap out leaving a trail to be cleaned up in my neighborhood, From the looks I've created essentially a straight pipe. Sounds like a Fast and Furious beast now and will be putting a muffler on to tame it.

Hope someone benefits from my finding here. You can get into all kinds of codes and other analysis quite easily.

Any recomendation on mufflers?

Thanks
Bob
