2001 maxima se engine problems
Just bought a 01 maxima it had the check engine light on for the 02 sensor bank 2 sensor 1 so I replaced it then and clear the light then check engine light came on again for the ect sensor this time so I replaced that and cleared the light. Now I'm getting the same code for the ect sensor and an ignition code and when driving down the road it starts to stumble like it's going to die and sometime coming to a stop it does die , so I took it to mechanic he had same problem and said it is either the engine wire harness or the computer or both because when you tap on the wire harness connector the cam it starts acting up. But when i drove it home from mechanic almost 12 miles it ran good when I got home I tapped on the harness and it died, any ideas out there. Thanks newbie here sorry for the long post just trying to figure out what to do next

- Your problem is intermittent - it changes when you tap/touch the harness.
- It's almost impossible to diagnose intermittent problems; so, your first task is to make your problem persistent over some reasonable observation period. That's not easy but it can be done.
- Having said that, it looks like you may have a harness/connector problem. Try to wiggle your harness and connectors into "stable" state, then diagnose.
- Buy yourself an OBD2 reader (they are cheap, like here ) and report any open codes after every step.
- If you want us to help you, you need to describe the issue at hand in plain/clear English, without confusion and no ambiguities. Try shorter sentences (one idea = one sentence = one line), and define all conditions clearly.
