Broken wires in engine harness
Well, my check engine light is on, and after taking it to the dealer, found it was code #0201 (Ignition Signal Circuit). The tech. informed me that he found broken wires in the harness. Wanted to charge (ready for this) $3271.78 for a new harness. Of course I didn't pay that. But my question is quite simple. Where is the harness located? And how hard is it to preplace are repair some wires in it?

Look for a used harness at carpart.com

There are two different wiring harnesses for the maxima I believe.

You have to find the break first. Most likely they are in the engine bay right where the harness turns up from the firewall and starts its way towards the front of the motor. There is actually a recall on some of the 2000 for it actually breaking there and wires becoming broken.
Its a big black harness. Go in your engine bay and very gently look at the harness. Look at where the harness turns and see if there is stress there. Or go and talk to the guy and see if he can point you to the wire. Once you find it, Solder it back to the other side and your set. There are ALOT of wires in there man, so be carefull. Youll have to add some wire to each end and solder and heat shrink. You dont want any noise on that wire.

Absolutely no disrespect intended, but if you are asking questions like this please go to an electrical repair shop
