2000 MAF sensor in 2002 Max

I tried to search but ended up getting lost in all of the posts. I've heard that we can put a 2000 MAF sensor into the 2002 Max. Is this true? If so, are any modifications necessary? I need to get a new MAF soon and was hoping to be pointed in the right direction. (Junk yards aren't really an option as i haven't found a decent one near me)

Isn't the only difference the temp sensor is built into the 02 MAF?

Why aren't junkyards an option? Go there and take multiple.

I don't know what the difference is lol. That's why I'm getting expert advice 😁

I don't live near a decent one. The one in my area simply crushes everything

Ah, gotcha. Very odd choice for a junk yard.

They're identical except 02-03 has a thermistor attached that's the IAT. Swap it from your original to the 00-01.

Is that easy to do? I don't know my way around under the hood but I'm trying to learn. Is there a thread, or video, with step by step instructions?
