Bad Engine Mounts (SKP Brand)

Replaced 16yr old OEM mounts w/ a complete set from SKP via Rockauto. After two weeks the aluminum passenger front side mount split; the metal part split on one side. Other than OEM, What brands hold up???

What was the mileage on when you had to replace them?

96k/16 years on the OEMs... all were pretty much shot

400 miles on new replacement SKP aluminum front right mount. Others seem ok, but they're also made of steel.

OEM for me. Replaced all four 12k mi ago with 119k mi on the car. Love them. Expensive, but figure your time for having to do the job twice now and the money you saved on el cheapo's vaporizes.

I just got mine swapped with manual versions of Anchor brand. Front and rear. Weld shop fixed my rad supt rust and put in the mounts.

Vibrations I was getting seem gone but it feels different for half a sec right at startup. Like one cylinder firing weird but I attribute it to a stiff mount.

Weird.

There is for sure some cheap sh** out there.

Beware of crappy strut mounts also.

Regardless of the overall cheap parts discussion, your issue sounds like a manufacturer warranty thing ... if you care to persue that.

my aussie maxima has done 336,000 km.changed front right mount a couple of years ago.we have a brand here in oz called mackay which is what i used, quality for this brand has never let me down on any cars i have. we too have plenty of cheap crap flooding the market most of these have brand names i have not seen around for very long. now i need to replace the front mount as it has the beginnings of a tear. not too bad mount wise for a high mileage car.

Seems like Engine mounts only come in two flavors, cheap aftermarket or expensive OE Nissan.
Every brand from Anchor to autozone to pepboys has terrible to average reviews.
Might just bite the bullet for this one.

its like anything in life, you get what you pay for.plenty of manual mounts available in oz but maxima's here were all auto lol.front mount I need to replace with sensor ranges from $90 -$150 all depends on the after market brand and what shop or dropshipper are selling.I will not go to nissan australia for anything unless it is oem specific, but only as a last resort.plenty of stores/suppliers overseas selling oem for a fraction of what I would pay here.

Disagree.
Five years and 50k miles ago, I replaced my passenger-side mount with an Anchor mount. It has been running just fine ever since then.

Most common complaint I hear about Anchor is fitment issues.
