18x8 245/40 or 255/40

I have the OEM 18x8 350Z touring wheels on my 02 and it's about time for some new tires. I have been riding on 225/45 but thought I would try something wider. according to the calculators online 245/40-18 and 255/40-18 are real close overall diameter match to the stock 225/50-17 these cars come with stock. being that these cars have a horrible steering angle I doubt I would have any clearance issues. Any opinions ?

I love this combo 245/40/18 w/ a 18 x 8 wheel....Nitto 555 plus are an awesome tire as well.

not looking for anything fancy, I mainly ride my motorcycle while the Maxima stays parked until I need to take the kids somewhere or pick up items that won't fit in my back pack. I actually fit one of my Maxima's front spindles in my back pack to get a wheel bearing pressed in a few months ago lol ...
