why do some alternator parts listings exclude 2001 year?

some include 2001 and some EXCLUDE 2001. do an ebay search for "13826 alternator", i have one in my hands it looks pretty identical to the 01 i have. the only difference might be thesnese wire? mine looks like it might be a 3 pin with 1 pin missings, where the new has 2 pins but, they are centered in the connector.

thoughts opinions?

Are you looking at local part store listings?

For the 2000, 2001 and 2002 Maxima, the Nissan parts book lists the Hitachi model LR1100-725C alt, rated at 110 amps, part # 53805-0E010
Starting in 2001 and for 2002 and 2003, the Nissan parts book lists the Hitachi model LR1100-723V alt, rated at 110 amps, part # 53805-5Y700

These 2 alternators are interchangeable so I am guessing that the alternators you are looking at are not Hitachi brand, but something that is supposed to be compatible. Why the listing would exclude the 2001 is not logical.
