3.0 valve covers on 3.5
been looking online on if this can be done and was wondering if anyone had any info on it. im going to be doing my intake manifold spacers and.it would be nice if i could use the metal 3.0 ones with 3.0 coils and OEM seals so i wouldnt have to worry about pulling off the plenum for a long time. i mainly want to do the rear one.

Not gonna happen. Cam cap profile is different and the IVT solenoid will be in the way.
I have a set of spark plug tube seals and hole saw jig for the plastic valve covers for sale. PM if interested.

01-04 3.5 Pathfinders/QX4 had metal covers. Hard to find apparently.
Jig you say! Tell us more. What's it made from? Replace with 3.0 seals?

I spent far too many hours researching and checking junkyards to avoid buying new valve covers for my 02 Pathfinder as OEM were $380.
Anywho, I 3D printed the Jig to align the hole saw to cut away just enough of the PCV baffle plate to replace the tube seals without cutting through the plate, and keep the hole saw from walking, photo below.
Theres a guy on my350z that sells the seals for ~$60 plus core charge for his jig, I felt that was a little high so I stole these seals out of a cheap pair of aftermarket valve covers.
Turns out that the aftermarket valve covers use the same spark plug tube seal as the OEM valve covers, but I was not able to find a source for the seals.
3.0, 00-01 pathfinder 3.5 (metal), and seals listed for a ~04 altima will not work.
I've also read reports of people double stacking some 2.0L Honda tube seals and making it work.

Damn, so that's why the metal Pathfinder ones are so hard to find. They didn't make them long.
I'm so glad I have not tried to drill out any oil seals. Without a jig and seals I'd be dead in the water.

for now I've been running.cheap ebay purchased valve covers but installed themwith Fel-Pro gaskets and they have been holding up good since last summer. i did the valve covers rwice vause the gaakets that came with them hot hard and brittle and.leaked within a month. for now the Fe up great but who knows how long it will be before the tube seals start leaking. I also installed a PCV valve I got from the parts store just in case...
