I have a 01/00 Maxima GXE. I started it recently and the blower **** was on full blast. When I went to turn it off I had some resistance, I muscled it off like a dummy and now the blower doesn’t work. The lights for everything (vents, defrost, circulation) work. The AC light does not illuminate, nor does the fan blow.

I took it to a mechanic I trust and have used for decades on a number of vehicles hoping it was a mechanical issue with the ****. He got under the passenger side and pulled out a fuse box and ran a wire to the + battery terminal then told me I needed the climate control unit.

Since there is power to the unit (because the light illuminate), could it not be the control unit but something else (like the blower)?

 

The control is electronic, IE it's all switches and no cables or levers. If you can't turn the **** there is something wrong with that switch.
