Fuel pump issue
Hi there,
I own a 2003 GLE model, recently have been having rough idling and loss of power going up hill until it shut off. Tried to jump start it but that didn’t work, had to push it back. I suspected it may have been a fuel pump issue because of it stuttering after starting it and letting it run for a few minutes.
fast forward 2 weeks and my parts came in (I got a new fuel pump with a fuel filter). When I check the nozzle on top (after putting the unit back into the tank and screwing the nuts on) after turning the key into the on position and turn it back off I can hear a low whining sound (meaning the pump is getting power right? I could be wrong), but the nozzle is bone dry. So it’s like the fuel pump is turning on but the fuel isn’t going anywhere.
Please let me know if you can think of what I can do, I a college student so cost is very important unfortunately.
thank you for your time.
