How long to replace rear strut assemblies

Hello All,

I have a new to me 2001 Maxima. The rear shocks are shot so I ordered some shock/strut assemblies from Rock Auto.

Does anyone here have an idea of how long it may take to replace them?

Thanks

Seb

An hour or so. The hard/fiddly part is reaching the top 2 nuts which are surrounded by metal brackets.

That's why you need to just take all of the bolts out behind the seat, so you can pull off those braces. It's a lot faster and easier than ****ing with the tiny opening and swivels/extension (which won't work anyway).

OK thanks for the suggestion.

Been contemplating removing that black brace on the front side of the bulkhead to open up the area for my subwoofer enclosure. Looks like a structural member though. How important for structural integrity do you think it is?

I'm sure the rear end will be sloppier without it.

Been thinking up a brace I could weld in place to substitute. Something to retain the rigidity yet widen the opening.

I use the swivels and extensions with air tools and it works for me. Be sure to soak the bolts on the bottom before you start in, since they tend to be near welded together from rust after 20 years.

*sigh*
i bought front and rear monroe quick-struts from rockauto (2001 i30t) thinking they were quality... (they're not) after a year (and like 2000 miles only) they are all rusty (surface) and are mushy so i feel like i wasted my money, the car rides ok but workse than stock.
I should have forked out the extra cash for BC Racing or Tein coilovers at least then the car would perform better.

No rust there on my cars, but they wouldn't budge.
