Vehicle Speed Sensor

I own a 2003 Maxima GLE (auto transmission). My DTC system continues to display Error Code Nos. 0500 and 1574, both of which I understand involve the vehicle speed sensor. I replaced the VSS located immediately behind the front driver side wheel, but continue to get the same error codes. I have been advised by a local Nissan dealer (parts dept.) that there is another VSS located somewhere else on the engine; however, they can not (or will not) tell me where it is located. They say only that the same part works for both sensors. The symptoms I am observing are (i) the cruise control does not work and (ii) I have lost most of the functions on the instrument cluster (speedometer), other than a few lights.

Does anyone know where the other VSS is located? I can not find a picture of it in the service manual. A picture would be helpful if you have one.

Also, if the DTCs indicate a problem not related to the VSS(s), please advise.

Thank you.

There are 2 speed (AKA revolution) sensors on the trans. Check the other one you didn't replace.
