Replace Muffler without Lift

Hey Org,
I have a 2003 SE and need to replace the muffler. I don't have access to a lift and wanted to know how high does the rear need to be on jack stands in order to remove the muffler.

Thanks

Just as high as a 2 ton jack can go.. Remove the passenger rear wheel if you need more room. WD40 or PB blaster will help you with the rubber hangers and exhaust nuts/bolts.

The #1 spot of exhaust failure on the factory exhaust is at the clamp that connects b-pipe to the muffler and not the muffler itself. If that is the case, just take it to a mom & pop exhaust shop to get it repaired insteald of replacing parts. The factory exhaust has the best materials and if my car was a Florida car, its what I would do.

I have seen that joint fail more times than I can count. A butt joint band clamp is the most cost-effective solution. Just cut off the old flanges and tighten the clamp. Cheap and easy with minimal tools or skill needed.
