Transmission fluid help ?

I changed my transmission fluid dropping the pan and changing the filter around 40,000 miles ago I'm looking to do it again I just forget I believe I used matic D last time this time around I have purchased Valvoline automatic transmission fluid full synthetic that is compatible with dexron 3 looking in the manual it clearly states to use Nissan matic d but dexron 3 may also be used ? If I mix 4 quarts of the valovine with the other 6 left in the tranny that is probably matic d will I have problems ... ? I can't remember what kind of ATF I used 40 k ago

oem fluid is basically dexron 3. Virtually anything compatible works fine. I've use mobil 1, Syntec HM, Castrol import, and who knows what else.

Get it all out through the cooler return hose.

Yes. Hydraulic fluid is hydraulic fluid as long as it's the same stuff (obviously ATF) and within spec, which is viscosity in this case. Not any different than mixing engine oil.
