motor mounts

I read some write-ups and I just want to confirm something. My front mount (near the radiator) is showing some cracks. I had the passenger side replaced two years ago so I am expecting it to be in good shape. What I read suggests that I can drop the front of the cross member to replace the front without much support for the engine. Perhaps a jack with a wooden block under the oil pain. Is this correct? Can I repeat this process for the rear motor mount and then the driver side? This is an MT so no electrical mount to worry about. Pictures would help a great deal but not finding any. Thanks in advance.

You need to remove the cross member to get to the the rear mount so may as well do the front and rear at the same time. The engine and trans will be fine being held up only by the two side mounts..

what I like to do after jacking the front up and.putting it on jack stands is to use the jack to put pressure under the center beam to take same tension off the bolts that bolt the beam to the body...

on my car the rearward beam to body specialty bolts always go be and I have to replace whenever the beam comes off.

I actually use a few split washers as spacers and a wide M12 washer as a replacement for the spwcialty nissan bolts...

To remove the large bolt to access the REAR mount, I remember having to come through the driver wheel well with a lonnnnng a@@ extension to get a socket on it. Use pb blaster or heat, it’s likely torqued, rusted, and fused on super tight.

Yikes. That's like a bolt an hour.
