A/C Issues

No A/c in a 2003 GLE with Manual A/C controls. Compressor turns on and off when I move the control to heat or air. Plenty of freon, checked with gauges, checked the blend air motor and it is working correctly. Any ideas on what else to look at?
A/C was working last year and just now got hot enough to turn it on.

what are your pressures looking like? general rule is double the temperature +50 on the high side. check the pressure with gauges hooked up and hood closed...

Plenty of refrigerant? How much? Recover the system and see what comes out

if that's your pressure with the system running, I would start with a new expansion valve..

I would too if that's the case.

with the age of these cars, you should get new rubber lines and drier. I have an 02 and when I installed my new compressor last summer I noticed the low pressure line collapsed under vacuum. I highly recommend installing new lines and drier while your at it.
