3rd gen vq35de in 00’??

So originally I wanted to get a HR to replace my knocking 30DE in my 00’ maxima, but it seems like that’s quite the undertaking I’m not prepared for since the HR is only a RWD block. So instead I thought maybe the 35DE from 16-23” max would work out better, has anyone done this modification on a 5th gen, I know mods like this have been done to a 5.5 gen atleast. If if this is a possible swap are there any other things you could do to increase the power, such as taking parts of an HR? also would the engine need additional modifications (stuff like different headers, obviously modifying the mounts aswell) and would it be needed to swap out the transmission as well? I was thinking maybe the 6th gen automatic (I can’t use manual cause multiple people use my car and not all of us know how to drive manual (me lmao)) since it’s the latest non cvt transmission from a maxima, or would that transmission not work, if it doesn’t what would best pair to the engine?

You really would have less grief is you got an engine from as similar a car as possible. There are many engines available on car-part.com.

The motor in the 7th and 8th gen Maximas are essentially FWD versions of the RWD HR engine, and those are the ones you would use if you want to swap. But judging by your question, it's probably more complicated than you're prepared to deal with. Do a lot of searching on the forum for more info, people have done it before, and then see if you think you're up for it.
