03 Ignition coil plug connector broken

Good day. My 03 i35 ignition coil plug came off basically its broken. Its on cylinder 2. I want to fix it correctly. Ive tried other plug ends but they dont seem to last long. Dont want to drive it like that because its misfiring and gonna kill the cat eventually. Anyone else have this issue or were successful at replacing this part?

No local junkyards near you to acquire what you need?

ok great photo, but since the wires are thin, what did you use to join them togather? For a tight fit. I only have 1 coil wire connector that is broken. I went to swap wires on it yesterday by removing the connector and the green wire broke off. But i have a replacement connector and wire harness.

The same thing happen to my 2003 I35. I ordered new connectors with wiring harnesses and replaced all 6 of them.

Since the coil packs are important electrical components, you want to rewire them properly. The best way is to solder the wires together. Then shrink wrapped them with wire protectors. They look like miniature straws and are applied using heat. Cut and replace one wire at a time do you don’t get them confused.

I just twist twist the wires real good, cover them with heat shrink, and zip tie the ends real good so no moisture gets in. rewired them late 2021 and no issues. I even did the same with my cam sensors when I did my 7th gen swap. my soldering skills are nonexistent 😕

thats the worst thing you could have done. twisting and black tape would be a better option

don't use that, it's for solid core wire

ok well im glad i didnt open it yet. I will take that back and get the tape and heat shrink wrap. I have a wire cutter/ splicer as well. But how do you apply heat to the heatshink wrap? I saw some in harbor freight though.

I didn't heat mine, I just zip tied them tight on the ends.

With a blow-dryer or a heat gun. It doesn't take much heat to activate the heat shrink tubing.
