Snapped e-brake cable mounting stud - options?

Doing a full overhaul of my brakes and was replacing the e brake cables this evening. Unfortunately i snapped one of the studs located above the resonator that holds the pass. side cable in place just before it meets with the T joint/main cable that leads to the cabin. Heres what im looking at:

You can see how its supposed to mount on the driver side (left in this pic), red arrow shows where I snapped the stud. Any suggestions on how to unfck this? Best I can come up with in my head is drilling another hole or two next to the alignment hole, and snaking a steel cabletie up in there to hold the cable in place. It seems there is a small
hollow space behind there so I wouldnt have to worry about drilling randomly through my floor. Im wondering if I can get away with just not mounting it there but thats probably a no go.

Any suggestions welcome!

Drill it out and put in a nutsert/rivet nut. Or grind it flush and weld a stud/bolt.

Ground what was left of the stud flush and then drilled & placed a M6 nutsert, and was able to bolt the cable in perfectly. Great little kit to have although its probably going to be just another extremely specialized tool I never use again to take up more space. Hoping to get my BBK fitted onto the car by tomorrow!
