Something seems to be leaking

If you look down you can see the top of the transmission and tbe driver side cv joint is coated in something. Im wondering if the seal is bad or if thats transmission fluid?

Can't see anything in the picture. What color is the fluid/leak?

Wipe it/dab it with a paper towel to get the color.

Ok so upon further research I took the driverside wheel off, and looked at the axle. It appears the seal may be broken which is causing the leak, but its all over the transmission in that area.

I dont know if I want to keep throwing money at this car

Replace the axle seal and keep driving a paid off vehicle.

Cv axles are not that expensive to replace/repair. No brainer vs selling the car unless you have other major repairs pending.
