96 volvo 850 R turbo(14.5 PSI), chip, exhaust, etc. auto
v.s.
01 AE max (0 PSI) Y, Greddy. drop in, STS, that's it for performance PERIOD! 5 spd.

ALL SIDE BY SIDE BY SIDE ON INTERSTATE> 2 DRAGS, 2 ROLLING @ 20mph, then @ 70 mph.

Max winning until ~30ft, no chance then on. prelude is fastest, 850 ran 14.2 best @ track.

if all your fwhp's are true on your SC Max's (kev, Han, others) Max WILL win with 9 PSI.
No mods for me until the SC (3.25) this summer.

No prob! With the SC and 3.25 you will easily smoke your bros. Im currently running 3.33 and im about 300fwhp and since we both have an AE version of the MAx we also have a limited slip differential. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Your brothers chiped 850R should be making .95-1 bar of pressure(19-20 PSI) with a IPD chip. What kind of chip is he using? You should check for leaks if he's using the IPD chip becuase that's not right. I'm a little suprised the predlude took the volvo(crazy top end on them!), Volvo 850R was my dream car for years!(still kina is in a weird way).

i thought you were running 3.25 (9PSI). i've been following your mods b/c you've been pretty successful. i am planning my SC with your set up.
so expect some questions come summer, and others with SC 5th gens. open to suggestions!

The chip company is Wetterauer $800. IPD $1G!!
19 PSI is possible. it's been chipped for 2 years and the OEM turbo is on it's way out according to the dealer but 850R is running solid! just letting you all know to keep an eye out racing, we've all been surprised.

No prob! Im switching to the 3.25 next month with a custom water injected cooler so I could hit somewhere around 340fwhp. Any questions feel free to give me a shout. And any R&D that you find out about always open to some new ideas and mods. Good Luck and keep in touch.

I'm more than a little surprised that the Volvo came in 2nd. With the chip and exhaust, once the turbo kicks in, the prelude should've been toast. What distance were you running?

the drag was up to @100 mph. rolling start was from @70-120. prelude redline is 7,300. an SC spinning that fast is gonna make power. like i said, the 850's turbo bearings aren't what they used to be.

Really? I was just reading a volvo forum the other day and the guy's were saying one bar was 20 PSI, I will take your word for it though! Maybe the IPD chip only does 14.5 PSI then

Sorry, I misread your first post, I completely missed the SC. With that said, it's an interesting run. In your case, the prelude won. My bad.
