sway bar noise

sway bar noise
I have a 00 max with addco sway bar and whenever I have 1 or more people in the back it tends to make a bottoming out noise when going over bumps. I have been told that is normal, but I highly doubt that is the case. Any opinions?

I would check the bar, make sure you dont see the road scrapes on the bottom of it, if you do, then yeah, you bottoming it out.

You're not bottoming out. What's happening is the passenger side bracket that attaches the RSB mid section to the rear axle extends out just far enough to catch the lateral link when the suspension is compressed enough. This results in a "clunk" sound as it scrapes past.
You have two options to fix this. First option is to take the bracket off and trim the end down to provide more clearance. Second option is to simply slide the mid section brackets further inboard so the passenger side one doesn't interefere anymore.

Sly, has the exact answer, I just finished with mine(addco) same thing was happening, also what we did was move the bushings(right side) about 6-8 inches in towards the center of the car, plus move the top u bolt over about 1 inch, works great now no more bottoming out sound( i know exactly what you mean) matter of fact i posted almost word for word what you did about 2 weeks ago. Sweet! It seems to have worked! Now I can load my car down with a bunch of drunk slobs (my friends) and not loose my mind when I go over bumps I was getting sick of them calling my max a piece of s**t!!!
