Is there an ECU limiter removal for my lowly GXE?

I was on the freeway the other night and I tried to test the top speed and I hit the limiter at around 133. I really didn't like the feel of hitting the limiter. Is there any way of getting rid of it for the 5th gen? Why did nissan put the limiter on just the GXE? Should I put my nitrous kit on so that I can bust right through the limiter?

Jet chips has one for $399, but outside of taking off your limiter I don't know what it does. Also I don't think any 5th Gen's have tried it so maybe you could be the ginuea pig for us all. As far as the NOS goes; bad idea and less you want to blow the motor. Then besides asking about a chip to take your limiter off you'll be about your blown motor. Hope this helps and good luck on the chip.

NOS has nothing to do with the limiter - makes no difference.

Thanks for noticing my joke knuckleheads on the NOS busting through the limiter. So I guess that there is nothing to do about my problem. So what is this crap about the NOS? Isn't everything bad for your car(Like SC?)?

Putting your NOS system will just make the engine hit the rev limiter faster.

Pay attention to what Y2KevSE posted, this device might help you remove speed limiter .
I would think that hitting speed limiter and have your car run lean while running nitrous will blow up your engine for sure...

What the heck is that Kev?

Kev

Are you saying that this device eliminates the rev limiter without having to replace the whole ECU?!?!? Hmmmm

I'm curious as well about the APEXi Rev/Meter. From their web site it sounds like it sends a lower RPM signal to the ECU than actual. Presumably you would then have to read the real RPM's from the APEXi. So where can you find the "real" ratings for the engine and transmissions? Thanks.

No..... it removes the speed limiter. The site never said anything about removing the rev limiter.

Where did you see this? Not on the site I posted, right?

He's one of the lucky ones that don't have a limiter..... or maybe he was too drunk to and couldn't read the numbers correctly.
