Any good wipers...

Hi guys, the wipers on my max sucks, I mean, I bought the most expensive one at a local CT recently and when I drive around 40-50km there kinda useless, it make the windshield even more dirthy. So how about changing the entire arm for better one if such thing exist, I'm kinda tired of that crap. Anyone have a good suggestion or a brand of wiper, or is it me who just bought crap.

Cheers

I always found most wipers worked pretty much the same. Maybe it was just me though. Did they seem to change at all? Maybe you just got bad ones.

yeah, i'm not sure if there's a whole lot to wiper design. i always thought the biggest differences came in the fluid spray pattern. if you wanna try difference blades, give the piaa blades a shot. i'm considering them myself and i've heard good things from the couple of org members who already have em.

Just changed to Bosch

The Bosch blades and wiper work very well. Give them a try.

I think the key to improving their performance at high speeds is really to replace the springs in the arms with higher tensile strength springs. This will hold the wiper to the windshield better when you hit 60+, which is when I usually get the "hopping" sound which annoys you and your passengers.

clean them

clean them and they will work better (if they are not in bad shape)

Take tire shine and clean the blades good. This will keep them from drying out. 1.5 years later I still have the orginal blades that came with the car and they work real well!

Replace the blades when they get nicks in them.

Bosch Micro-Edge's are great. Do the whole switch...blades and rubber.

Simple fix here. Get Bosch blades and keep them clean and wiped down with a silicone product like STP or even Armor all every time you wash the car.
The blades will really perform and will last for years.

Wiper Maintenace

Best thing you can do is take an alcohol prep pad...or some rubbing alcohol to a paper towel....and wipe down the blades every few weeks...cleans them better and makes the rubber more pliable.

If you buy them at Canadian Tire, go with the teflon coated ones. That's what I have and they work very well.
