Anyone put LCD'S in HEADRESTS Yet?

Hi peeps,
Looking for good photos and/or descriptions of an install or likelihood of success of such a job. Also, any TRIED AND ACCURATE estimate of LCD size etc. What source they've been hooked up, accessing audio from the source etc.

Thanks.

I haven't seen anyone talk about this or its process.

Hey man, I am going to be putting them in about 2weeks from now. Putting a 7" motorized unit up front and then two 5.6" ones in the headrests. Yeah it is costing me a grip of money

Who the hell cares about putting LCD's in the back of headrests? Well, I suppose you do. If you feel compelled to waste time with what you care about then please allow us the pleasure of wasting time with those things we care about.

This forum is strongly dominated by people concerned about performance (you know people who care if a tire weighs an ounce less), so you're not going to get massive support on doing audio/video modifications unless you visit the Electronics forum.

I am just putting a Alpine IVA -C800 in mine and I know how to bypass it so you can watch while you drive. It's a secert though, the skill of a MECP certified installer.

LCD in headrest

Are you talking about the "Active Head Rest"? What is an "Active Head Rest" anyway? It acts just like every other headrest I've ever seen in a car. What's so active about it? My friends give me $#!+ for that all the time. I don't remember my 2000 having those stupid tags. One of my friends yanked one of them out and started hitting me with it while I was driving. I guess that was "active".

I don't have anything useful to add, I just had to get that out. It's been bothering me since I got the car.

Hopefully you'll never notice any difference between the active and normal headrests. They only activate in a rear-end collision. The headrest will instantly push forward to catch your head snapping back.... helps prevent whiplash.

only the i30 in the 2000 model year had them, I believe.

Alright, you da man!

Now were talkin' I could swear you dont come up on any lcd searches. Any insight on either the install, overall success, convenience, waste of money, neat feature, hard to install, professional job, comments regarding the lcd's you bought, do you have on up front too? How do you hear audio? Etc. Etc.

Thanks.

Very nice setup. I am install a $3000 Pioneer setup this week and it is going to be a B@#$# cause I am doing the whole install.

I am looking into the headrest install as I dont want to cut up the headrest myself, dont feel confident enough on that part. However I am doing a Double Din setup with a Pioneer 7" motorized screen with a single din DVD player below it. Gonna look hot.
