I scratched up my rear bumper parking the other day, nothing too big or noticeable, but I know that it's there and it bothers me. I was wondering if I were to use some compound if it would help fix the scratches?

Langka

I have used Langka. It does what it says BUT it seems to alter the composition of the touch-up paint, removing its gloss. Don't get me wrong, it beats using only the touch-up paint but it's not magic.
I'm waiting to get me the touch-up pens from Courtesy Nissan (paint and clearcoat) to see if applying clearcoat after fixing the paint chip improves the appearance.

Paint Pens?

Does anyone have a part number for those Paint Pens? My dealer is clueless about them. Says he's never heard of 'em.
Thanks,
Jim

Why don't you just place an order through CourtesyParts.com? It would easier and you wouldn't need to deal with your "clueless" dealer

IMO...

...paint pens are ALWAYS a good investment. Heck...when my brother bought his Saturn (long time ago) and the "kit" they gave him had Saturn-brand wax, wash soap, and paint pens.

I'm also going to order my Supa Black Paint Pens from Courtesy. It's just a good idea and I should have gotten them earlier.

The parts guy at my dealer hasn't heard of these pens either. He's pretty sharp about Nissan stuff (been there a number of years and helped me with my 91 Max). I ordeed from Courtesey and plan to educate him on these pens after I try them. $7.50 for shipping seems steep for an item this small. Oh welll ....

The markers are simply graffiti-paint markers with a second tip. I'm going to order one once you guys post your results, because I have nothing to loose from trying something new that seems like it might work better than Nissan's crappy touch-up paint. I have a nasty scratch on my rear bumper and I need to get rid of it!

I just looked on the courtesy site, do they have the paint brush and applicator all as one for sterling mist, i only see the 1/2 oz touchup paint. do they not make the pens for sterling mist?

The paint chart is split in two. The left side has prices for regular touch-up paint and the right side has prices for the pens. It looks like they only have pens for Just Blue, Pebble Beige Metallic, Super Black, and Sunlit Sand.

This my friend is true. They only have a few colors available. I would imagine that they are the more popular colors.

Anyone used any of these markers yet? A few of you guys said that you had placed orders for them, but did you ever get them? If you did, takes some pics, or at least post your results!

I had a fellow go to do some wet sanding on a few scratches on my trunklid and he went to far and took off the paint! He couldn't believe it and commented how only a few strokes shouldn't have removed the clearcoat. He was shocked at how thin the paint is. Anyway, I should have left the scratches, cause now I have a nasty touch up just above the nissan logo on the trunk. So, I have to look at it every day. He did a good job touching up, but it is still touch up. Makes me sick. If anyone has any good ideas on how to improve the appearance...I'm all ears.

One comment...after 4500 miles NO paint chips...I repeat, NONE! Am I lucky, or what...no paint chips, but I do something worse than any paint chip has ever done!!! 45 miles in my Merlot max last year and it was banged up bad...maybe nissan has improved???

srm

Bringing it back from the dead!

Yeah, I did. I waited around 12hrs. You don't have to wait that long though. Before you order from the langka site, check your local Pep Boys or Murray Auto Discount for the Mothers' version of it. It's cheaper and it is basically the same product.
