Paint chip repair?
Paint chip repair?
Anybody ever heard of this stuff? http://www.langka.com/ They clame that it works wonders on paint chips. Anyways just thought I would pass on the info.
but dude you have to use normal touch up paint first and then use that over it, maybe it's cool I download the movie of the 11 year old kid doing it lol took along time on this fast *** ::ehem::ehem:: oc3 (56k) lol
I scratched up my rear bumper parking the other day, nothing too big or noticeable, but I know that it's there and it bothers me. I was wondering if I were to use some compound if it would help fix the scratches?
Langka
I have used Langka. It does what it says BUT it seems to alter the composition of the touch-up paint, removing its gloss. Don't get me wrong, it beats using only the touch-up paint but it's not magic.
I'm waiting to get me the touch-up pens from Courtesy Nissan (paint and clearcoat) to see if applying clearcoat after fixing the paint chip improves the appearance.

IMO...
...paint pens are ALWAYS a good investment. Heck...when my brother bought his Saturn (long time ago) and the "kit" they gave him had Saturn-brand wax, wash soap, and paint pens.
I'm also going to order my Supa Black Paint Pens from Courtesy. It's just a good idea and I should have gotten them earlier.

Why don't you just place an order through CourtesyParts.com? It would easier and you wouldn't need to deal with your "clueless" dealer

The markers are simply graffiti-paint markers with a second tip. I'm going to order one once you guys post your results, because I have nothing to loose from trying something new that seems like it might work better than Nissan's crappy touch-up paint. I have a nasty scratch on my rear bumper and I need to get rid of it!

That's what I think, too. But that's what Randy at Courtesy quoted me.

I had a fellow go to do some wet sanding on a few scratches on my trunklid and he went to far and took off the paint! He couldn't believe it and commented how only a few strokes shouldn't have removed the clearcoat. He was shocked at how thin the paint is. Anyway, I should have left the scratches, cause now I have a nasty touch up just above the nissan logo on the trunk. So, I have to look at it every day. He did a good job touching up, but it is still touch up. Makes me sick. If anyone has any good ideas on how to improve the appearance...I'm all ears.
One comment...after 4500 miles NO paint chips...I repeat, NONE! Am I lucky, or what...no paint chips, but I do something worse than any paint chip has ever done!!! 45 miles in my Merlot max last year and it was banged up bad...maybe nissan has improved???

Yeah, I did. I waited around 12hrs. You don't have to wait that long though. Before you order from the langka site, check your local Pep Boys or Murray Auto Discount for the Mothers' version of it. It's cheaper and it is basically the same product.
