Are all xenon bulbs the same?

I have the Panasonic HID kit for my car. Now, I like the color that the Acura CL-S has. Couldn't I just buy the bulb to get the same look/color? Or do different companies have different connections and wattage ratings?

I've been wondering the same thing myself. I think most HID bulbs must burn the same. The connections to the burners might be different, Radio Shack can take car of that problem. I have the Hanabi kit, the burners have most of the wattage ect. printed on them. Why don't you take a look at your Panasonic kit and I'll take a peak at mine. Post the info here and compair. That will tell us if they are interchangable.

Aftermarket retrofits come in so many different configurations, that the new generation have injection molded bases so they fit in a halogen housing. (P132d)

As for connectors and such, simple wire splicing and properly sealing connectors will do just fine to exchange different connectors among retrofit HID kits.

Another scenario is an HID retrofit kit w/ Metal Locking Rings on a OE Burner...those are mostly available for certain applications in the Retrofit market.(D2S D2R)
What do you think the Panasonic kit could take? (I think its the round base, in which you had to hardwire the H4 brackets)

I'm assuming the Kit is D2R or D2S ?

The H4 rings are available for $45/pr.

I have the ballist(sp) posted on my homepage link. It was a D2S. Don't like those. Want the good cut beam without adding the tape (you'll see what I mean when you see the pics)

Give me a week to get an idea.
Yeah looks like they cut out the inside of a h4 bulb and gave me that ring. had to use epoxy to glue the rings on. Let me know if you think I can use any other bulbs.
