The dreaded thunking noise while turning.....

I've done a few searches on the topic and most folks point to replacing the strut bearings or the CV joints.

2001, 5 speed, 10,000 miles.

If it's either of the two solutions above, what are the chances of the dealer paying for it? I think it should be covered under warranty, but they might consider it a wearable part.

What are my chances?

Lower control arm bushings seem to be a problem too. Strut bearings wouldn't go that quick, CV joints make a click click click as you turn and accellerate. Your still under warranty, go back to the dealer.

Thanks for the reply. I would have never thought a warranty repair would be necessary after only 10,000 miles.

could just be a strut mount..

if so, that will be an easy/quick fix. no biggie. was a very common problem on 2k's, dunno about 2k1s.
