just installed frankencar intake......

best mod for the money, instant power increase, more throttle responce ,more torque, more power through out rpm, easy install, what a differance!!!!!my friend who never drove my car before compared it to a 2k2 infiniti i35 and said my car with mods listed in sig felt as fast or maybe even faster.we're talking 20 mph on . obviously i don't have 3.5 liter torque......but i have the horsepower! i highly recommend the frankencar intake.....only down fall to me is full throttle noise over 3000 rpm. but i quess some people like it.other than the flipped over aircleaner carb noise from back in the day its an awesome mod......

Damn, that's crazy. I just got back from Eric's (ehughes) where we installed my Frankencar intake and I was about to start the same thread. The sound is perfect. The tip of my K&N rattles a little when I go over bumps but I'm hoping the bracket'll fix that. We added a short metal cylinder piece (like from a drier) to direct air flow better. Eric did most of the work while I gawked at his RX7, that thing is beautiful. Nonetheless, I highly recommend the Frankencar intake. I should have a dyno in a few weeks. Will that be the first 2k2 auto with Frankencar intake?
Thanks Matt & Steve

I am thinking of getting it too, but I am afraid that in the summer when it is hot this intake will hurt performance.
What do you guys think about that?

Also you said it rattled a little bit when you went over bumps?, that's probably not too good. I hate rattles.

It's really no big deal. Nothing 3 minutes couldn't fix. I'd get one if I were you. I live in Houston and I'm not worried about the heat.

I am sure Search could be used for this, but since you are on the thread I figure I should ask. Will this void Factory Warranty? I know that a K&N alone will not, but what about a new intake? Also, about how long would it take to return to stock if it does void the warranty? I would just do that before servicing.

No, you should search. Your question does not pertain to the original subject of the thread.

No mods void your warranty anyway.

No, your warranty won't be voided. The only part that will be voided is the warranty on your intake (Nissan isn't going to cover a Frankencar intake). It shouldn't take more than 15 min. to put the stocker back on (once you've installed the frankencar, you'll see how easy it is and be more confident about doing it). Make sure you get a bracket though, I put some tape where mine was tapping the car and problem solved, but the bracket'll make it look cooler.

Installing the mod doesnt void the warranty, smarta$$. Nothing "voids" the warranty. The dealer may legally refuse warranty service if the part in question caused the problem in question.

Read your warranty, it's in there.
