Remote keyless bypass
Remote keyless bypass
I read a thread from Max_Vader about wheels stolen from his Max.
I had my 86 Max (that's the whole Max, wheels, body and engine stolen by what I believe was a ring of car thieves using certain towing companies. It was found six months later, stripped and burned.(gruesome, isn't it?!)
I will never again feel safe giving my keys to service people whom I don't know.
In fact, a related question I continue to ponder is ..
Do I really need a keyless/remote/windowrollingdown/lightflashing/hornbeeping/trunkreleasing blackbox hanging from my key ring?
Considering that Max_Vader has probably been a victim of remote/keyless entry mayhem, and knowing that anyone can buy and program these things in minutes from ebay or forums such as these...
Am I off my rocker in asking if there is a way to simply bypass the offending black box and use just the key. I'm certain you all remember the old, old days of keyfull/upcloseandpersonal/contact entry.
