to all greddy owners??

i am going to get the greddy exhaust system...
can yall please tell me how it sounds at cruising speeds?...at WOT?

is it very annoying to the point the average person wouldnt like it or does it sound very cool?....if im going like 30mph...will it be really loud?
is it worth the money?

i want an exhaust for looks and sound......my AE max exhaust is really ugly...lol
so what do yall think
thanks for the help

it's worth it

noise...not ricer loud, but a noticable clean throaty tone, definately not annoying. peaks at ~3500rpm then doesn't get any louder. maximas have good insulation so you can easily hold conversations within and listen to music/self help tapes... whichever. idle sound is near stock. greddy evolution looks hot, i hear you about that fugly AE muffler.

Greddy evo + stillen Y (that's it!) = 14.71@ 96mp...5spd, not great but better than stock. IT'S WORTH IT!!!

search for kev's sound clip.

I've heard there can be a droning sound at highway cruise control speeds. But a random tech (free flow cat) can actually help eliminate that drone. (ask kev)

I will have one installed shortly and will give my review. Including dyno.

Here's my opinion if you drive at 70mph in the car it dies out and you can hardly here it. When I go to the mall of america in the parking garage I love it because it's deep sounding. 2000 to 3000 rpm's I think it's loudest.

I had the GReddy installed on my car and it was LOUD!! My shop manager went on the 1st drive with me and commented that it sounded very "Ricey" like a lot of the Honda cars. I took it back and had my original muffler reinstalled. I just sold my GReddy to PhatGuy and I hope he likes it. It was just too loud for my taste but hey everyone has different tastes so good luck. Don't expect it to be the least bit subtle especially when cruising around town below 60 mph. It drones pretty bad below 60 mph but isn't that noticeable when cruising around 70 + mph. It may have been louder in my car since I'm SCed.

I will review it as well. I do have an RT cat installed now and hope it helps eliminate the drone a bit but I know it will still be loud. I don't mind it being loud cruising around. I am only worried about highway driving, road trips etc.. I do a lot of highway driving. Thanks again! I look forward to getting it installed soon!

The RT cat will remove some of the drone (not all). Better than nothing, right?

Just don't cruise at 60-75 mph.

DMan_2kMax says it gets quiet when you hit 70mph.
Y2KevSE says not to cruise at 70mph.
Huh?...Sounds like it's all personal taste. How loud is the HKS?

BTW: What's the weight on these aftermarket exhausts?
The stock exhaust is HEAVY. Mine is bangin' around...I guess I need new hangars.

Noise can be car dependant. Diederik's 70 mph noise is probably different than my 70 mph noise.

I have the 2K1 AE also. All I have to say is its not a bother at all it has a nice deep muscle tone not some $hitty ricer sound.

We both have SC's... but I have more road noise due to the tires and suspension.

145? You'll hear your intake.

y-pipe adds more noise to GReddy...if you don't have a y-pipe already, then it shouldn't be that loud at all...

Put it this way. You are probably married, too old, or a beesh if it is too loud for you. It is great. It sounds great. It isn't too loud. The people who don't like it are very insecure with themselves because thy can't handle it when people look at them from this great sounding pipe.

Yeah I'm married and am 34 years old so what's your point? Don't quite understand why you think people are insecure because they happen to disagree with your impression of the exhaust note but I guess it makes you feel more masculine "Mr. Mask Boy". My point was that everyone has different tastes and likes and dislikes its simply a matter of preference and oh yeah I guess age too.

Sincerely
Mr. Senior Citizen

Wow! So you think that you are an old guy? I never said 34 was old. Well, thanks for the fatherly advice, old man. And don't ever make fun of the way I look. It is hard not fitting in. especially the not owning a Honda part.
Anyway, beside that personal attack from the OLDMan_2KMAX, buy the pipes. You will love them. And give it a month not a minute.

Wish I would have been witty enough to come up with OLDMan_2KMax.
