Safety Recall Notice

Hello everyone,
I own a 2K2, Today I received a safety recall notice.
It pertains to the electronic throttle control system. The stop below the accelerator pedal is improperly postioned. If the accelerator pedal is pushed to the stop with excessive force, it will contact the stop and possibly cause the pedal go to the right side of the stop, resulting in "over travel" which could cause the "engine malfunction" indicator lamp to come on and the engine speed will be severely limited. if this occurs unexpectedly it could lead to a crash.(According to the SRN)
the appointment will take 30 min at the dealership.
until the adjustment is made by the dealer, the SRN recommends not forcefully pushing the accelerator pedal all the way down to the stop. Hopefully no one experiences this!

My brother just took his 2K2 in to the dealer for this and its going to take 1 1/2 weeks to fix. They said it looks like a additional problem with this not just the rubber stop. I'll keep you updated on the diagnosis.

If it's going to take more than a day, they better give me a loaner car. I think they do have the base Sentra's. Hmm, the Altima SE would be nice, or the Pathfinder...

Got mine today

So I guess I'll make them check the hood too and order the fuel pipping protector...

Yeah, this recall info is practically hidden on Nissan's Website:

What did the do to adjust the hood?

I had mine done today. Not sure how long it actually took since I left it there to check for the Odometer recall and they adjusted the hood. Aside from replacing the stopper behind the pedal they had to use some testing tool to ensure that the pedal was calibrated properly or something like that. Probably just a fancy tool for checking resistance.

PS. I'll post a picture of the new stopper tonight.
And why does the hood need adjustments?
Mine looks fine.

Thanks.
