Nissan Recalling 39,000 Maximas
Problem Is With Pedal
Nissan is recalling about 39,000 2002 Nissan Maximas.

The problem is with a part of the pedal, which may limit how much the driver can actually move the pedal. The limitation could reduce the driver's control of the car and could result in a crash.

Nissan will notify owners if their car is included in the recall.

 

I had the recall done my 02SE. It really is a trivial issue. They simply replace a bumper behind the gas pedal. The write up indicated that flooring the pedal could get it stuck around the pedal (can anyone say sudden accelaration?). Nissan is just being overly cautious.

yes, not being able to press your pedal all the way down to go faster is dangerous, dangerous i say.

 

Does anyone know if the ECU is also reprogramed so that WOT can still occur even with the replacement pedal stopper?
