right turn over bump sound....upper control arm

Well guys, I brought My max in today for them to take a look at the front left side of the car because she made noises every time I turned and went over a bump. Drove around with the mechanic. He mentioned the sound could be coming from the upper control arm. Now, that is strange to me that this is the problem. Has anyone else heard of this? Is there a TSB, cause I couldnt find one.

Thanks.

Find another mechanic - the Maxima doesn't have a front upper control arm.

I had a similar noise...turned out to be the strut bearing. I tried to replicate the noise for the dealer many times, but couldn't. The amazing thing is this...the last time I took it in for service, I gave up on the noise. I went home and the dealer called me back. When the tech was driving the car into the bay, he heard the noise and diagnosed the problem on his own! The strut bearing was bad and has been replaced. No more noises. I think there is a TSB on this.

I looked at the bad bearing (it didn't look like a typical bearing assembly---it's basically a plastic disc with tiny bearing inside) and it didn't show any visible signs of wear.

Hope this helps.

Was going to say the same thing. I hope that wasn't a Nissan mechanic that told you that.
