Slow acceleration after 60 ???

Slow acceleration after 60 ???

Today on the freeway i floored my Max as i was cruising at 60mph, i noticed tat the acceleration after 60 was slow and the rpm didnt even go above 3.5 even though i floored it, does anyone know why ? Can some1 explain ? Thanxs

I have that same problem with my 2000 Max GXE. I punch it and nothing happens anymore, what the hell is that all about. I think my automatic transmission is slipping. I'm going to take it in.

i dont have that problem when im at 60 and i floor it i go WOT

well...

if you slowly go WOT, it will not down shift, hence RPM will not climb.. but if you punch it, it should shift and RPM will go up. RPM is not equal to WOT. if you need to find out if you have a problem opening the throttle, then you should look at the throttle position sensor. It can be checked with a OBD2 reader/scan tool, maybe even a voltage meter directly.

Could be a TSB on the auto tranny.
