Can a 2k+ ECU be self diagnosed? I took a look at my ECU last night but it didn't have the adjustment screw like a 4th gen ECU has for the diagnosis. My service engine light has come on and I suspect that one of my coils is malfunctioning by the engine hesitation and lack of power. It seems to be intermittent but I would like to be sure I know what the problem is before I go to the dealer. Has this happen to anyone else with a 2k+?

 

I know you can rig some ECU's so that the SES light will flash a number of times to indicate the code. I'm not sure on the 2K-2k2 Maxes. I'd try to get a service manual.
