I will be making no mods to the extrior, except my ORG sticker, and exhaust. Im even thinking of not changing wheels. I have Maxspeeds on the way, but they only lower me 1 inch... Hope Ihave no troubles... I fought for years with my Stang and TA...both had NO CATS !
I'm with you on that, kloogy. The last thing I need is a cop with a wild hair up his A$$!

The only external mods I have on my 2K SE are clear side markers and white signal indicator bulbs up front. I use amber bulbs in the front side markers and red bulbs in the rears. I've got 75% tint on my windows, primarily for UV protection. (You can't even tell there's any tint on the windows.) I don't intend to slam my Maxima or change wheels. And call me silly, but I even display my front license plate. (Yup. I even got a fix-it ticket for not displaying it once!)

A notice of the prohibitions and requirements of this subsection shall be displayed at all motor vehicle parts, supply, repair, alternative fuel conversion, or other vehicle service facilities in Texas which sell, offer for sale, install, or offer to install any vehicle emission control, exhaust system or device, aftermarket alternative fuel conversion, or engine."

If this is true...then how is it still legal to sell aftermarket exhausts, intakes, headers, ect. IF THEY ARE NOT LEGAL?!! If you can buy it then it should be legal. Otherwise what would stop the police from raiding import shops of their "illegal" mercendise??

Sorry, Charlie. (Anybody besides me old enough to remember the Star Kist commercial? )

The Stillen Intake is not C.A.R.B.-legal for the 5th Gen Maxima.

It's legal to sell and install this type of equipment if it's for "off-road use only".

"Off-road use only" ...That's the disclaimer! Any shop can legally sell these parts but technically need to inform the consumer of this disclaimer. Most people involved in the import scene are already aware of this and usually ignore it.
