Hey Kev,

I also got my Max Sept 99', I have 60,4XX miles. My dad wanted to see if he could get a 4th Gen (cheaper insurance) but the dealer said we came a month to late.. so i am a 5th Gen DOOD!

Young owners

I bought mine when I was 25. I just got out of grad school and Nissan was GIVING money away. I leased my vehicle for $350 a month, but now I have to buy it at the lease expiration since the 'value' of the 2000 Nissan Maxima SE is so much less than the residual value.

Oh well. I still love me car!! Congrats to all you YOUNG owners!!

Turning 27 July 13. Just got my 2002 Max SE Auto. No mods yet, I'm still enjoying the stock look. Can't wait to put my stereo equip. in my Max though. For now I'll just daydream about bulletproofing my transmission, installing a supercharger, stiffer springs/struts, brembo brakes, 18 inch wheels...

I'm 22 in an '02 sunlit sand SE. My mom is 54 in her '02 sunlit sand GLE (with nearly every option!). I have always loved the max, when my mom got one and I drove it, I had to get one. I graduate this month and found a good job so the first thing I did was go see her dealer!!

I bought my first maxima at the age of 29 it was a 98 se 5 speed. Paid that off and bought a 2000 se auto loaded. That one got totaled this past February. I now have a 2002 se 6 speed loaded at the age of 34. I hope to keep this one longer than 2 years.

I too am amazed at the number of very young Max owners at this forum. I'm 44 and have been modifing and racing cars and motorcycles for longer than most people on this forum have been alive, certainly explains a lot. Weird, when I was in college I drove/raced a Vette, and even at my advanced years I still have a hard time justifing a 4 door car being in my garage.

For the record my 2k2 Max. is the first new car I've ever owned due to the money spent on the aforementioned racing activities, however, I did pay cash for it and all the subsequent modifications.

I only have a mere 30 bucks left over a week which im saving for mods. Im living on what I make since I swore to my parents i wouldn't ask for a dime since they took over my payments. It's hard to pay for food, gas, school expenses,gf/ entertainment and car washes and have any money left for anything. Mind you, I'd wash my car myself if there wasnt restrictions on water usage because of the drought here in NY.
I love the look on jealous older peoples faces when they think I'm a spoiled brat who never did a thing to deserve a 2k2 maxima
