New toy! :)

This one is made out of steel (unlike the 3.125" or larger pulleys).

Hey Kev what ever happened with getting the Idler/tensioner or whatever you call it pulley(the one that melts) made out of billet?? Maybe we could get a group of the SCed maxes together and have a company like Unorthodox to make one for us..? Curious...

Off water injection, that should be 13 psi. With WI, that should be about 11 psi.

So you feel this one. How much difference vs. the 3"?

Why are you afraid? You have an A/F and EGT gauge.

TRACK time!

U got issues kev...5-speed envy? j/k

perhaps you ought to consider at least a thicker copper head gasket and uhh... higher octane gas like uh... jet fuel.
hehe, hopefully water injection+fuel should keep that safeish. When your tranny blows are you going to convert to the clutch side?

Yes, I'm prepared for the worse if the tranny goes out. Still not sure which route I want take yet (thought I decided, but I keep changing my mind).

For sure, it's going to be an LSD'ed tranny. Now the question is, will it be an auto or manual. Auto... easier to drive in Bay Area rush hour traffic. Manual... more power.

Methanol mixed with water should increase octane by a little bit. EGT's are definitely higher now, but still safe.

Why am I afraid? I hit 9 psi... which wasn't at WOT or near auto 2k shift point.

Kev, if you don't mind my asking, how much does it

cost to get to where you are at now (s/c , WI, pulley). Thanks.

BTW, you are a trail blazer!

That should help you out on the TORQUE side eh? More boost throughout the rpm range means more area under the curve. Now whether your engine, tranny, and cooling system can handle it IS scary.

I'm gaining more and more respect for Nissan engineering, because if your Max can put up with 300whp/250+tq without self destructing, you got to be impressed.

Any new scans? I would pay CLOSE attention to timing advancement. I'm wondering if your getting ANY predetonation yet. You can't necessarily hear it, but the knock sensor can and will retard the timing. A possible sign your nearing KA BOOM!

Geez Kev, you're just asking for it aren't you? Just want an excuse to get a new tranny or conversion.

So what's the boost level? 14psi?

SC - $2800 (from My 4DSC)
SC pulley (I'll count only one) - $60
WI - $410
All the work put into the car - priceless

Power will make you fast, but controlling the power will make you even faster. Containing the power is just as important as controlling the power. Do you see now, grasshoppa? ^_^

Yeah, that should help out the torque. Hopefully it'll give me at least 10 more.

No new scans. I was ocasionally detonating while I ran pure water for the WI, but I haven't heard any as of late (with methanol mix). I'll get some scans when I tune the car.

Still haven't tested redline territory yet.

KEV!!!

Kev, I am actually kinda worry about your bottomend more than the tranny. From looking at your site, I see that you had your tranny TSB'ed, tranny cooled, Vave body recalibrated, high stall torque converter, good ATF, and oil cooler. Your Auto tranny should be fine.

However, your bottom end is untouched and you are running at almost 10psi! Even with a good radiator and intercooler, 10psi is too excessive.

Other's have gotten ~350 whp without any bottom end modifications. I just hope I'm as lucky as they are.

Matthel will dust me no matter what I try. He's probably pushing close to 400 whp.

I'm even more scared to tune the car on the dyno now. The VQ should last, but the tranny is a different story.

We're planning on going to Maxima Day, but unsure about Open House. Matthel pick me up? Maybe it should be the other way around.

Alty is holding up nicely. I just heard there's airbag sensor recall though.

When we have nice warm spring days like today, I really miss my Maxima, especially the 6 speed with sunroof.
