In the car care section of this site there is some good info and there is a great link to a detailers site.

i've searched through that one thread, lots of different responses. Maybe i just suck at searching

I just need to know what would be safe to use to make my car shine and keep it's shine every time i washed it?

I wanna wash it tomorrow but all i got is some turtle wax liquid and i got some negative responses on this forum about it..

So if anyone could just reccomend what i need to buy to make it shine when i wash it, i'd appreciate it!

try soap.....and water! Seriously, try www.pinnaclewax.com or zainobros.com and you will NOT go wrong. Try finishing with Crystal Spray from Pinnacle for between waxing.....keeps wax up and applies a small bit of Carnuba to protect from UV's.

Most car washing liquids work just fine. To be safe, stick with the brand names. What not to use: dishwashing liquid, clothing detergent. Waxing your car on a regular basis will also help keep it really shiny.

Meguiar's Soft Gel Car Wash (pink in color) is great...I've used it for years on all my cars. Use a sheepskin mitt (never a sponge) and be sure to towel the car with 100% cotton towels. If you're really **** you can use your Wet Vac in the exhaust mode (or your leaf blower) to get all the water out of the nooks and crannies and then towel her down.

I'd love to see the look on my neighbors faces if I did that.

Actually, I use a can of condensed air. It works great along the moldings and lights. I can't stand washing my car, then seeing water streaks everywhere once I've gone somewhere.

Washing my car takes the least amount of time, out of the whole process. In order to really do a good job, especially when planning on waxing afterwards. Dry the car, pop open the hood, open up the trunk. Dry al nooks and crannies. Drive the car for about two-three minutes, repeat. You will not have any streaks, guaranteed. However, you will spend the bulk of your time drying the car. Lots of folks on this board use the California Water Blade to cu down on time. I plan on buying one this Summer.

Bath and Body country apple bodywash....I have to steal it from my sister. JK! just any car wash soap would do....the one that I use has wax ingredient. if u r living near the coast, washing ur car at least once a week since the air is bit salty and the rain is more acidic.
