2K2 Owners, do you suffer from Brake Judder?

What is says...

Try braking at high speeds, 70+mph. I'd like to know the outcome.

List how many miles you have. Mine didn't occur until 8K miles.

If I jamn my brakes on from 100 MPH the brakes behave strange. I think it's just brake fade or something. BTW I have 6800 miles.

You should really clarify how much braking was used (are we talking up to the point of lockup and the ABS kicks in?). For me, 3800+ miles, no judder but I've only tried the ABS from about 30MPH.

It *may* also be be due to the EBD system. Given it applies more pressue to the corner with more traction/weight/etc. When it does, you might feel some shudder.

Just a theory.

No, smoothest braking feeling I've ever experienced in one of my cars... Have it checked.

Depends on your driving habits, and if your wheels are torqued on properly. I had 18k, before 2k1 went bye, and no rotor warpage problems, smooth. I also braked hard alot, but I gave the brakes time to cool as well between hard braking.

I thought warpage is a 2k - 2k1 thingy.....b/c the pads generate too much heat and the rotor is too small and soft. I have mine @ 20k and my front rotors are majestic blue.

I think it would happen again soon or later even though they told me that they now use a new brake pad.

Haven't had a problem yet in the 2K2 but our 2K GXE got warped rotors twice in 17K miles.

I had the same problem. Brakes shudder from the day I picked it up. I never wanted to brake, because the car would shake, like warped rotors. The dealer told me to wait a few thousand miles. Maybe there was some rust build up on the rotors. He said if it didn't go away, they would cut the rotors. It didn't go way after 3000 miles. At my first oil change, I told the dealer, they resurfaced the rotors and the problem went away. Brakes are nice and smooth now. Much better. I also had the accelerator pedal recall fixed at the same time.

be careful...if it warped before...there's high chance to be warped again. our FF is just too heavy for the front brake.

I would go back to the dealer and ask them to replace the rotors completely. By them cutting the rotors rather than replacing them, they have done 3 things:
1.) Shortened the life of your rotors
2.) Gave you a band-aid fix that is really cheap for them and not the best solution for you
3.) Potentially making you replace your rotors at your first brake job. You can usually get 1 or 2 brake jobs without having to replace the rotors (just cutting them).

Every time you a cut a rotor you are taking life away from them. The thinner the rotor is (after having them cut for example) the more likely it is to warp. All of the intense heat that is generating by your brakes has the ability to warp a thin rotor (sometimes even a new rotor).

I think your best bet would be to have the rotors replaced completely...it may save you some headaches down the road.

My $.02

No shudder at all. About 19,000 kms.
