I too had a 96' GLE, pearl white & stock to the bone (great car). Moved to a late 90's 3-series bimmer until late last year then back to a another GLE.

Had a 96 White SE.

They better make the 7th Gen better or else it may be the last max for me. Either that or I'll try to find a low mileage 2k3 when it's time to get a new one and just mod it out.

I had a 92 Maxima GXE before I upgraded to a 2002 Max SE. My brother has it now w/~160K and still running strong.

yep 20K out of my own pocket, cash deal. I been saving for a brand new car since I started working as a cart pusher when I was 14. Then I had some $$$ left over for mods. It was a GXE 5spd, so it cost 18500 plus tax, licence, it was 20K dollars out the door.

This is my third Maxima. My first was a 90 SE. Black with black leather, ABS, auto. That was my first "Nice" car. Probably one of the best cars I've owned. Handed it over to my wife and bought a 92 SE 5-speed for myself. Man it was fast in its day, but for some reason, just not as reliable as the 90. Maxima's were way ahead of the competition in the early 90's. Now I have the 03 GLE. Must say, it will likely be my last Nissan. I still think its a nice(fast) car, but the nit-picks have turned me off.

Ryals...did you actually scroll all the way back to 2000 to find this?

Oh and BTW...I briefly had a 2000 before getting my 2003...loved the car but was paying way too much for it used and luckily I was able to sidestep into a new 2003 for less money in the end. And yes, I would get another Maxima...but definitely not a 6th gen.

I'm new to this Forum stuff, I sit at work all day a read through this forum, Didn't hibk about it being out dated.....cut me some slack....lol

THis is my 3rd Max and my 6th Nissan.
'90 Maxima SE - Near totalled at 5K miles by a drunk driver T-boning me - Sold it at 11K - bought a Pathy.

'96 Maxima SE - bought used in '98 - traded in on the 2K2 in '02.

My wife had an 89 Max SE, bought a British Spec 93 SE in England. Mom has a 98 GLE, and now i have a 2003 Pathfinder and a 2k Max SE!

Four in a row. 91,95,98,02 All SE except '95 was a GLE. Just can't find anything better for the overall value.... And I tried a couple times, but the final decision always came back to Max

I had a 92 SE then a 99 Firebird then a 99 626. I had to go back to a maxima. I currently have a 02 GLE and I love it.

Check the sig... Started with the 91, that was my favorite one, not fast at all, but it was just so clean before it got totalled. I still have the 93 which is kinda my beater but still runs very strong! had the 02 for a month now and loving every mile!

Before my 2000..

I had a blue 93 SE auto in 2000..
I had a black 98 GXE auto in 2001.. which is now driven by my mom and dad.
I had a sage mist green 97 SE 5 spd in 2002-2003
I then purchased the 2000 in 2003 right after selling my 97...

i may still own a max in the future but it'll be a 2002/03 or a 97-99 SE 5spd as a daily beater..

but i'm hoping to get a G35

Had 98 SE inherited from the wife.
Now traded for 02 SE
so that's two Maximas.
Have been driving Nissan since '82. Here's the rundown...
82 - 310. 95K wrecked
81 Kingcab PU (2.2 L hemi) 135K clutch serious rust.
87 Stanza. 250K high end auto tranny went out.
