Mitsu EVOLUTION VII

i WAS GOING TO SELL MY 2K TO GET A 2K2 BUT THE MORE i think about it, i'm probably hold off for the 2003 Evolution VII. I like my max, but I dont love it. It doesnt come race-ready. I dont necessarily mean straigt line racing either. It suffers from a poor suspension design(heavy front end, solid rear beam), weak brakes,it's weak at the knees at the limits.
I know there are aftermarket remedies for all these issues, but I want a car straight from the dealership that can do it all. I know some of you will think I am being "Un-Loyal", but I know what I want. Just my 2cents.

Dont get me wrong I know the 2k2 is a great car, I just think the Evolution VII will be a better car -- all around. MAybe G35 6spd.
Just thinkin - AWD, Brembo's 245 Yoko's, Independent Suspension, GRIP.

well...no doubt...

There really is no comparision....The Evo 7 rocks...I can't understand why they didn't introduce this earlier...
IMHO, Evo is prolly only one close match to the WRX(STi)...

And car killer in that price range...compare to a skyline? that's a different story..(me big fan of GT-R )
Then again, if u use the money to mod the Evo instead of getting a freaking skyline...Wow...

Anyhow....I got a Maxima not to race and stuff..(I'd mind as well get a WRX or hell...get a Civic and mod it to the knees..) but..I like the max cause IT GOT CLASS..OOOoooo yea!and performance to boot.

U just can't get that 'executive look' from a Honda

well, maxima wasnt designed to be a "race-ready" car. A lot of us know about this before we brought the car back to our garage. I doubt that we will consider u as an "un-loyal" person because u didnt know what kind of car u really wanted. I would definitely do a little bit more research for ur next car when u r ready to trade in ur maxima.

I love my Maxima cuz it has the race aspect to it. I know it's not a race-ready car was never meant to be. But as a car, it offered the perfect blend of luxury and sport. yeah the Evolution will be awesome (and should have been in the states loooong time ago) but as a race car only. (Man we are going to see a lot of these on the roads as soon as they get here).

Yeah..exactly. You can't compare the two cars. It's like saying, "I was going to get the max, but instead I'm getting the Xterra cause it has better ground clearence stock..." If you were driving a WRX, I could see it. The lancer is in a different league. Probably going to be a great car...just going to be smaller and Mitsu. Probably be more expensive insurance...get worse gas mileage...cheaper interior. But hey, it will be damn fast. Kinda like the WRX...and the STI version that's coming out. Bottom line: What are you looking for in a car????
I personally think the Max is a boat. It's by far the biggest car I've ever owned. And I've owned trucks! However, It is also the tightest, best made, fastest, most comfortable, well thought out car I've ever had the pleasure of owning. I looked at the WRX...read the owner reviews.. Didn't like hearing how their seats were wearing through at 30k miles and that the interior didn't match up right in the back, and the stereo was crap..etc etc.
Like the lancer...but no comparison to the max

Do it, drive down to your friendly Mitsubishi dealer and put your name down on the waiting list. but don't forget Mitsubishi has been rated at having worse customer service than Nissan!
