how many people would recommend the 2k2 6spd?
I've heard of a couple of cases of people who had the 2k2 6spd and then had a change of heart and wanted to get rid of it.
How many people here, who own a 2k2 6spd, are dissatisfied (or satisfied) with it and why?

There are cars out there that do certain things better than the Maxima but no car does everything together quite as well. If you want a front wheel drive performance sedan with manual transmission and a high level of quality and reliability...then the Maxima is the way to go. I'm into my 12th year of Maxima ownership and still do not have one regret.

Are you for pure speed? Steer clear of everything and get yourself a Cobra/SS/Firehawk...some people get brainwashed and think a FWD japanese car will compete with those cars with equal mods...just giving you the heads up.
Are you for looks, luxury, room, built quality, engine quality, WOT snarl, braking, comfyness, and one the fastest NA V6's on the face of this earth? Then get the Maxima 6-speed/

Definitely recommend the 6speed.... It's all about what you want. I chose this car because I wanted performance with 4 doors and some luxury comfort. The fit and finish is far beyond the altima.
The only thing is; when a manufacturer offers 6 speed tranny,it should be a short throw! I'm waiting for that! Otherwise a wonderful machine!

I have no regrets at all! Coming from a modded Prelude I was dismayed at the torque and smoothness of the 3.5 VQ. The looks are great and I LOVE the room. The only downside is the subpar handling (easily remedied by the mods in my sig). You can always wait til next year and get a XXXhp Maxima or a XXXhp Accord, but the year after that something better will come out. This year, right now, the Maxima 6spd is one of the best buys in the moderately priced sport sedan market.

No regrets
Close to 3000 miles, no regrets here. It is simply a great car to drive. If I had a city commute, only then would I even think about an automatic. Of course anyone who has major problems with their new car is going to regret buying it. The transmission and engine have smoothed out nicely after break in. Coming from 4 cylinder Hondas/Acuras, the honda's may have a slick shifter, but there is no comparison between the Honda's 4 and the Max's 6 in terms of smoothness.

I have 9000 km. Everything is great, and everyone compliment my car. I do wish the stance was wider and lower to make it more aggressive. Other than that, nice power, known reliability, sporty looks, nice amount of luxury, room for 5, and cool people driving it :-)
Someone asked a similar question in the TL forum and a higher % of people said they would sell their cars. There are a lot of happy owners, but many are fed up with the rattles, integrity, tranny, etc.
Don't get me wrong, the TLS, CLS, and IS300 were contenders to the Maxima when I was shopping.
