Burn Smelling Funk~!!!

I just put in a generic Greddy cat-back exhaust on my 2k2... Now I get this major burn smelling FUNK during idle and right after I shut off and exit the car... You can smell it inside the cabin as well as several feet away... I know its emminating from the exhaust... Is this normal??? Will it go away??? Is this just the SS getting used to it??? Is it because someone messed up on the installation??

And another thing. My new exhaust sounds like heaven around 2.5-3k but anything above it drones and silences out... The sound totally disappears and is no where to be found... I always thought the harder you rev the louder an exhaust growls... Any feedback? Did I buy a ghetto cat-back exaust??

I'm going to go under my car next time I have time and see if the catback was installed properly... What do you guys think...

I have the Evo, It had that smell for approx. 15 miles, after it broke in the smell went away, i wouldn't go poking around looking for anything, you'll just find a cat-back mounted and chillin under the car,my cat-back does the same thing yours does. It's normal

Yeah I agree... This smell will be there the first few miles. It's like you need to break in the piping. Mines was like that but went away after a little while..
