jnm2kse! I heard it, I heard it!!!
youre not crazy!
I heard my mounts tonight. They dont chirp, they squeak. My sound is more like slipping on a linoleum floor with wet tennis shoes.
like "vroooooom, skerch... vroooooom, skerch" Its so low that I've never heard it, but I had the windows down trying to figure out why the car was bogging down on my wife today. I was revving it, and there it was. I listened for it a few weeks ago, but it wasnt that cold. I'm in the south and we are just now seeing 30-ish temps. Maybe that has something to do with it. Nonetheless, its there for sure. I hope it stays nice and quiet

now that you mention it it does sound like you described..like you are walking past a gym and hearing the sneakers screech on the floor
Yours must be at such a low level that you really never noticed it before...do you think if you sat in the car with the windows up and listened for it that you'd be able to hear it? I can and it is really just on this 3rd set of mounts that I noticed the louder volume level.....guess I cut my own throat on this one.....if I wasnt so eagle eared I probably would not have paid much attention to it the first time I heard it way back when(and yes, the first set of mounts was much lower in noise....I think
) And my hearing is not the greatest.....one NASCAR race at Loudon NH a year ago did to my hearing what 6 years of Field Artillery and 12 years of C130 Hercules, C5 Galaxys, C141 Starlifters and C17 Globemaster aicraft engines could not do....left me with ringing in the ears(commonly known as tinnitus)....
You know something.....I'm starting to believe that every 2K Automatic Max experiences this "screech" to some degree....I actually met up with my former coworker who has the Max that I wish I had bought(quiet, no rattles etc although at 8000 miles his brakes feel like ****...like the pedal has waaaaay to much travel). I tested his car again....I could just barely, barely, barely hear a little screech......he can't hear it but I can because my ears have been so tuned into this noise.....
And then there is the case of the 3 2K1 SE's I tested on the lot....they all made the noise too although it did sound much lower than my car.....sort of tough to give the SM a hard time about the noise when 3 cars do it right in front of both of us...."Ummmm yeah.....(real sheepish look on my face)"
Marcel Newton(the Nissan rep in CA) left a message today if I still want that 6/100 powertrain warranty.....havent decided yet...I think I may push the issue one more time but this time to try and get a quieter set of mounts...this 3rd set is brutal! i still cant believe that Nissan would have spent all this time on a normal operation of the vehicle.
Think I'm really reaching to try and get Nissan to put in a set of less "screechy" mounts?
I still believe that "Sore Loserman" Gore had a hand in this somehow

yeah wth is that about???
I too spent years around Gulfstreams, Lears, and jets of all types (worked at a FBO thru school). Constant barrage of outrageous db's.. often had ringing ears (even with protection), yet years later I can hear rattles and things no one else can. I have like Spidey® senses when it comes to noises. I think it made me hear better

Heh
actually I think you are right about improved hearing for certain noises realting to ceraks, cracks, rattles and weezes
Actually my friend has another name for it that I can't post in this family oriented forum but it has to do with ones glutes area
I got a response back from JD Power reagrding an email I sent in reference to the mounts...the woman told me that being an independent source they cannot go to bat for anyone...they would be happy to forward my info to their contacts but said I'd probably be better off dealing with Nissan myself....obviously she hasnt had to deal with them ever
