New Max...One of the last '02 ??

Whassup forum- I've been lurking for several months gaining lots of great knowledge but this is my first post:
Picked up my new loaded Black-on-Black GLE last night. Ordered this thing back in January and it finally (!!) arrived. The wait nearly killed me but it was worth it. It's beautiful and no probs. so far.

The manuf. date is 03/02 and since I know they stopped Maxima production sometime in April, this may be one of the last batch of 02's made.

Immediate mod plans: I've already ordered the xpel.com clear bra to put on and tint will be next as well as moving my Bazooka+amp from my old Max ('92) to the new max to help out that sorry Bose sub New wheels are in the works also...

For later on, I like some of the AE additions some forum members have, but I'm thinking I'll wait for the Titanium edition 03 to come out to see if any of those pieces would be better to add on... Anyway, Here's to the 5th Gens!!

Check out the mileage at pick up:

would u acutally buy a car that has 250 miles on it already? I know when I test drove an SE...I abused it to see its performance and I think others would do the same. Then I go to another dealer and picked a 15 miles GLE.

well, SUPPOSEDLY the mileage on the car was just from the transport. it wasnt test driven as far as i know. there's no way to know for sure though.
but the main thing is that i waited 3 months for this car so i wasnt about to turn it away and wait 3 more months.

that irresponsible actions like that lead to problems others have with their 'new' vehicles...some of which may actually be family here on the .org....

beat the **** out of your own car...not leave land mines behind for others...

I completely agree. Besides, most cars on a lot are still in the low mileage (be kind) phase. You can always get the HP/handling/etc numbers from brochures. What you can't get is build quality, drive feeling, etc. which is why you take a test drive.

A demo car is different. Those cars generally have significant mileage and are intended to be "exercised". Here in Northern CA you rarely see a demo car but in other places I've seen them.

I bought my AE as a demo with 5k on the odomoter, and it has yet to give me any trouble other than the tsb's. I got 5k off of sticker and the extended warranty (100k mile one) for $700. I think i did pretty good being that it was my first new car purchase. Other than a scratch on the shifter **** there was nothing showing that the car was a "demo". I think it also has to do with how the dealership itself treats and lets the cars be treated.

I totally agree. My car had 50miles on it and I KNOW that it was beat on. The damn salesman took me out in it and beat the crap out of it. SOB spun the tires and crap. At the time I didn't realize it would be the one I was going to drive home of course. You may ask why I didn't go for another one, well...the one we took for a test drive had what I wanted on it...and there's only 3 nissan dealerships in Portland and the one I was at was the only one willing to deal! Anyhow, bottom line: It sucks! Those ******* salesman really rip into the SE's cause they have the 6spd.

hmm

Dealers here do not allow you to test drive any other car than the one they have for all to test. You can sit in it but not drive it. But the test car you can kick the oil out of it while the saleman sits next to you and reads his paper. At least when you buy a car you know it has not been touched. Only problem is if they do not have a test model of the car you want to test..

so are the 02 maximas that are built in japan end after after march 02? Let's say that I will finally save up enough money to buy a 02 max in december, does that mean that the max I buy then and all maxes then on will be built at the tennessee plant?
